Full color coroplast signs
Coroplast may not be a word that you hear every day; it’s something of an industry term. Like Coke or Kleenex, Coroplast is a brand name that has become synonymous with its product: corrugated plastic. You’ve most likely seen it before in the form of open house signs or as little political campaign signs along roadsides. Corrugated plastic is incredibly durable while still being light. It’s so lightweight that it’s the substrate of choice for those oversized spinner arrows that you see people dancing with on street corners. It’s portability also makes it a staple at trade shows. As one of our cheapest rigid substrates, custom printed Coroplast signs are perfect for advertising on a budget.
Durable signage at a great price.
Coroplast is surprisingly resilient considering its weight. The corrugated fluting reinforces the surface, giving Coroplast signs a pressure resistance that will defy crushing, warping, and punctures with normal usage. Completely waterproof, this substrate weathers the elements well. Large Coroplast signs, however, can be prone to bowing in high heat areas.
Caring for your Coroplast signs
Competitors print onto vinyl and mount onto Coroplast. Our flatbed printers can digitally print directly onto rigid substrates with waterproof UV cured inks, so your message won’t shrink, peel, or fade. Your custom Coroplast sign is ideal for temporary outdoor usage. Coroplast must be supported by a structure of some sort. They insert easily into wire yard sign frames or A-frame sidewalk signs. If you’re looking for a custom Coroplast sign that stands alone, be sure to check out our Air-frame signs.
The corrugated construction of the Coroplast gives the surface a subtle, ridged appearance. Please keep in mind when designing your sign that letters and simple graphics do well on Coroplast, but detailed images may have a slightly uneven appearance.
Custom printed Coroplast signs are perfect for advertising on a budget. These signs increase your company or brand visibility, without much effort on your part, and can be used in a wide variety of ways. Every Coroplast print is guaranteed not to fade for a full year and can be printed on both sides to ensure you get noticed. Coroplast can also be custom cut to any size or shape to create a unique piece of advertising to promote your company. These signs are incredibly easy to transport and install, making them perfect for use multiple times. Coroplast signs are also completely weatherproof so they can be left out in the rain without fear of them being damaged.

Coroplast is a brand name for corrugated plastic (other brand names include Polyflute and Correx). It is made of twin-walled polypropylene with a fluted core that gives it structural strength.
Twin-walled. Does that mean I can print on both sides?
Yes, you can. Both surfaces of Coroplast are smooth and are suitable printing surfaces.
That’s a good question. The fluted center of corrugated plastic gives coroplast structural strength while still being lightweight and easy to cut. That makes Coroplast the substrate of choice for applications that require featherweight, waterproof, and and durable signs. Directional signs and spinner arrows are often made of Coroplast. The flutes of Coroplast are perfect for holding wire stakes, making easy yard signs. POP displays make good use of Coroplast’s rigidity. Any time you need something lightweight, portable, colorful, and resistant to crushing or frequent handling, consider Coroplast signs.
How long will my sign last?
It depends on what you’re going to use your Coroplast sign for. Because spinner arrows are frequently handled and exposed to the elements on a regular basis, they will begin to show wear and tear much sooner than something mounted to an indoor wall. Coroplast is also heat sensitive and is prone to warping when displayed or stored in areas of high heat. In general, an indoor sign subject to gentle treatment and occasional cleaning will last up to 5 years.
Of course you can! We print a full range of colors at no extra cost to you. Create photo-quality images and signs. In addition, we have flatbed printers which allow us to print directly onto the Coroplast, instead of printing onto vinyl and mounting it. That means that your print will not peel or shrink over time.
How easy is it to install coroplast signs?
Pretty easy. Though Coroplast is rigid, it’s very easy to cut. Hammer nails or drill crews through it with ease. Or thread twine through the flutes to hang pretty much anywhere. Mounting on a wire frame takes mere seconds. And the best part is that it’s light, so you can hang them high without strain or fear of them falling.
Can I glue two pieces of Coroplast together?
Coroplast is made of a waterproof plastic. That makes it very difficult for things to stick to it. Glues generally peel off easily and do not create a secure bond. High tack tapes tends to work well, as does velcro.
Can I paint onto Coroplast?
As stated above, it can be difficult to get things to stick to Coroplast. If you’d like to paint onto your printed sign, make sure you choose a paint that is specially formulated for plastic application to reduce the amount of peeling.
